The Fiera di Bergamo parking lot, serving the multi-purpose exhibition complex, covers an area of 41,300 square meters, giving a total of 2,800 parking spaces, with adequate space reserved for people with disabilities. 

CUSTOMER NEED

The main need was to automate the parking area, which until then had been managed completely through operators and with ticket payment at manual ticket counters inside the Fiera complex. Due to the large number of spaces, the customer required a solution that would make it as easy and quick as possible for vehicles to enter and exit the parking lot.

SOLUTION ADOPTED

The solution for management of the 4 entry and 3 exit gates at the Fiera di Bergamo complex is the full CAME PKE configuration, which includes the integration of the license plate reader system, the Telepass system, and payment at the exit terminals via contactless/chip & pin credit/debit card readers.

The reader at the entry terminals is the SLIM version, which issues a QR code ticket on roll-paper format (double 6000 + 6000 ticket printer), QR code reader, RFID proximity reader, integrated intercom, TELEPASS system (for both the entry and exit) and “Totem compact” model license plate reading system. 
The exit terminals, in the REGULAR version, use the same functionality as the entry units with the integration of the credit/debit card reader (POS) with NFC. This payment solution, applied to the units, further facilitates and speeds up vehicle exit operations and times.

The quick payment modes (license plate reading, TELEPASS) are, however, assisted by the standard collection modes offered by both 2 automatic payment machines with change dispensers (offering coins and banknotes), credit/debit card reader with NFC, QR code reader, and RFID proximity reader, and by 2 manual payment counters with an operator and the same functionality. The intercom system also takes advantage of VoIP and gateway technology for call diversion to cell phones. The management software, which controls and integrates all components of the parking lot to achieve maximum effectiveness and profitability, has been digitalized on Promoberg’s proprietary servers.

The terminals are coupled with 7 Gard PX brushless boom barriers with sensor and light ring with traffic light function. They are the ideal solution for this facility in continuous use, ensuring maximum speed of access and exit from the site.
