Safety, discretion and balance: these are the fundamental elements to be respected in the construction of the pedestrian and vehicular delimitation system of the Place du Casino in Monte Carlo; an entirely redesigned space that best combines the transit of vehicles with the pleasure, comfort and safety of visitors. CAME Urbaco was the main player in this interesting and important project.
Customer need
Managing the flow of vehicles around the Casino by providing security in Place du Casino, in a total renovation project; this has been the starting point of the request made by the company SBM (Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer) the oldest and most important Monegasque company that manages the largest restaurants, casinos and hotels in the Principality of Monaco. Special attention was required for the flow of pedestrians crossing the vehicle traffic lane in the square, for which maximum safety had to be guaranteed.
Solution adopted
The solution was focused on the adoption of the G6 EVO bollard that offers strength, safety, design and maximum compatibility and integration with the context of the square. A semi-automatic solution (64 units) was chosen to delimit paths and areas during events; 4 automatic units with built-in hydraulic pump were installed for accesses. To cordon off pedestrian areas and driveways around the casino plaza, all semi-automatic units were linked together with stainless steel chains. All bollard liners are made of high quality 316L stainless steel to ensure durability of the products. A specific design has been developed for the head of the bollards in order to provide the best solution to the technical and aesthetic problems related to the hooking of the chains, combining sturdiness with ease of hooking to each of the bollards. All the bollardsof the of the EVO series are equipped with an interchangeable protective liner, which CAME Urbaco designed in 2014 and continued to develop over the years, and today allows the bollard to be refurbished if necessary, avoiding high disassembly and reassembly costs.
