What is Secured by Design?
Secured by Design (SBD) is the official police security initiative that works to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to provide safe places to live, work, shop and visit.
SBD’s product-based accreditation scheme – the Police Preferred Specification - provides a recognised standard for all security products that can deter and reduce crime.
UL293 Accreditation
The UL293 Accreditation certifies that CAME BPT VRM and MTM VR vandal resistant door entry panels have undergone a rigorous testing process to ensure that they meet the all-important UL293 standard (link to website) on their own merit, and not as part of certified system where not all components meet the required standard.

As of March 2021, all CAME BPT vandal resistant door entry panels meet the highest SBD accreditation.
