Background

CAME UK were chosen by Securafit of Swanley to complete the upgrade of 25 apartments in the heart of Clapham in order to provide secured accommodation for the local community. 

Thomas and Thomas Chartered Building Surveyors were commissioned to create these residences, but working in conjunction with established block management specialists, Sloan Block Management, had found that the residential property became subject to trespassing and illegal activity. This had put residents at risk and created a requirement for increased security to create peace of mind in this busy suburb.

Project Requirements

Having been presented with a CAD concept, a proposal was drawn together which included new gates, railing, video entry system, access control and groundwork.

The vision for the project was a modern looking and robust system that allowed residents to select different types of handsets, some with remote access.

Within this, CAME UK were able to provide a range of materials including the use of CAME VideoEntry app alongside a variety of handset hardware, and four Vandal Resistant Panels for the 25 apartments alongside automated pedestrian and vehicle gates, delivered in a one phase development.

Securafit needed an infrastructure which fit the bill to serve this scale of residential complex, whilst offering the ability to communicate remotely therefore future proofing the system. It needed to support fibre optics, radio links, and dedicated lines.

Solution

Residents were able to choose their preference of handset between the Perla with a 3.5” LCD display, backlit buttons, ringtone adjustment, and “panic” button or the XTS ideal for use with the remote app, using Wi-Fi, giving access to multiple users at or to those related to the apartment.

All of this was implemented using the XIP system, which provided Securafit with unlimited wiring distances, remote management, access control with advanced functions, H.264 video compression, all of which is designed for larger scale residential complexes.

Sloan Management are now able to deliver the day-to-day management of these apartments seamlessly, serving a range of residents from young families to retirees.
