Can I use the gate transmitter to open the garage door?

Who do I contact for any problems?

If you register a malfunction please contact one of our service centres or our authorized installers. Any modification to the product will void the rights to the product warranty.

How do I exercise my warranty rights?

To make a warranty claim a valid purchase document must be presented.

Are Came products covered by warranty?

The consumer warranty on our products is 24 months (two years) from the date of purchase, in accordance with applicable consumer protection provisions (Italian Legislative Decree 6 September 2005, n. 206, Consumer Code). The seller of CAME products is directly liable towards consumers, and is responsible for recognising the warranty on our products to them. In order to make use of this right in any way, consumers must contact the seller that sold them the product, and the seller alone, and must also inform them of any faults or defects in the product within two months of discovery. The warranty shall not apply if the user fails to report the defect within the time specified, or if the parts returned as defective have been altered or repaired.

What is the difference between a wired control system and a radio one?

A hard wired system requires a wired connection through electrical wires and generally the control unit is close to the automation,  radio control does not require electrical connections between  the automation and control unit; commands are sent via remote control that takes advantage of the radio waves to send the signal.

What are the advantages to installing a 24V operator?

What does EN Tested mean?

All Came products bear the exclusive EN Tested system marking, which certifies that the solution has been produced and tested according to the rigorous criteria of the European Standards as regards impact force. This means greater safety for the user and greater ease of installation and maintenance for the installer.

What is a Bus system and what advantages does it offer?

The electrical system Bus is a mode of digital information transfer at high speed, as well as of electric current. A bus system is able to support home automation functions of a house. Its main characteristic is that unlike a normal electrical system in which each cable performs a precise function, the Bus line can streamline manage several devices. Also, the configuration of the devices to be managed can be changed without any problem, by acting directly on the control module.

What does the term "proprietary protocol" mean?

A home automation system with proprietary protocol, such as Came, interfaces easily with any type of automation, including those of third-party, without requiring the intervention of a system integrator. Unlike systems with open protocol, it is not necessary to pay royalties and certifications. Furthermore, the HE! Came system integrates with various communication protocols: it communicates with the outside world using standard TCP / IP, it interfaces with devices using KNX protocol, with the DMX and Dali protocols used in lighting and, with the protocols of the companies Tutondo and Vivaldi operating in the the sound systems field.

Compared to a traditional system, how much does a BUS electrical system for a new house cost?

The Bus system is applied both in restructuring and in newly built homes. The costs of a Bus installation, in the latter case, are minor compared to restructuring a plant. Compared to a traditional system, the cost of a bus system is higher and varies depending on the additions that are to be connected, but in the long run offers advantages for two reasons: the bus system increases the value of your home, also in relation to legislation on the classification of electrical installations; the ability to manage power consumption by optimising their use can save you money on your bills.

What does "Home Automation" mean?

The term Home Automation indicates the integration of all home automation and applications into a single home automation control system. The Came home automation system allows you to integrate the automation of gates, rolling shutters and garage doors with the alarm, intercom, load control, temperature control systems and much more.

Can I partially open the awning?

The movement of the awning may be stopped at any point you want, either manually or automatically by setting a preferred intermediate point (option on some electronic models).

Can I use the awning transmitter to open the gate?

I have an old awning, can I automate it?

I would like to be able to control the awning via radio. How can I do this?

What are the possible ways to automate my awning?

You must size the automation according to the needs and characteristics of the awning, such as the dimensions, projection and the number of arms that support it. Ask our authorised installers for advice.

What is a screen?

The screen is a vertical shutter to limit solar radiation inside the premises. Typically the screen is a curtain that is wound on a tubular support, inside which an operator is installed.

I have a shutter almost 3 m long, can I automate it?

Certainly, but the operator must be dimensioned according to the characteristics of the load to be lifted.

I have an old shutter, can I automate it?

Certainly, using suitable accessories and components.

Can I partially open the shutter or the screen?

Can I automate an existing indoor curtain?

Certainly, as long as a roller curtain is vertical.

Can I program my installation by myself?

Functions are programmed by the installer in relation to needs expressed. The installer must give the instruction manual to the user and explain how to change the settings.

What are the possible ways to automate my shutters?

It depends on several factors, such as the surface of the shutter, its weight, and the customer requirements.

I would like to be able to program opening and closing. How can I do this?

To program shutter or screen opening-closing times a timer must be installed.

How do I memorise Top transmitter at 433.92 MHz?

1. Simultaneously press the two top buttons of the new transmitter (in case of model with 4-keys), until the LED flashes faster; 2. Press the button on which you want to enable the open command; 3. Within 10 seconds from "Phase 2", bring the already programmed transmitter close to the one still to be programmed by pressing the button that controls the replicate operation. After saving, the LED will flash 3 times; 4. Now the transmitter is ready to be used.

Can I use the gate transmitter to open the garage door?

Certainly. You must configure the transmitter and in a few easy steps you're done. For example, in a common private dwelling, if owning a two-channel radio transmitter, it is possible to combine a channel for opening the gate and the other channel for the garage door.

What happens in the event of a power outage?

All Came products for the automation of sliding and swing gates come with a release system to open and close your gate manually in case of power outage. The 24V versions also feature a handy card for connection to the back-up battery that allows for optimal operation in all situations.

Is it mandatory to give a copy of the Declaration of Conformity of the automated gate to the owner?

Yes! The declaration must be kept in the technical folder and a copy shall be delivered to the owner.

Is it mandatory to install the product label?

Yes, as per machinery directive.

In case of snow, will the operator experience faults?

All Came Products for the automation of sliding and swing gates can withstand temperatures up to 20 degrees below zero, while the internal components are isolated from external agents such as water and dust. In the case of heavy snowfalls, be sure to clear snow from the area affected by the movement of the gate to prevent the operator to block when finding the obstacle and the photocells not to be clearly visible.

Is maintenance always mandatory?

Maintenance of automatic gates must be performed in accordance with the maintenance plan. Maintenance is the responsibility of the owner who becomes responsible for accidents or damage due to poor maintenance or lack thereof. Came recommends that you prepare and implement a maintenance plan, as specified in the maintenance manual.

I would like to install wireless photocells. How can I do this?

Within the range of safety accessories, Came offers battery powered DB photocells. These allow you to safely move your automation without the need for cable connections, giving you the possibility to cover the perimeter of the area affected by the movement of the gate.

Why do I have to certify the installation of the gate automation?

It is required by law to certify the automation of a gate.

What is the average service life of a gate-operator?

A gate-operator generally has a service life of 10 years, but as with any automated product its decay varies in relation to the frequency and type of use and the maintenance carried out. Following the manufacturer's recommendations allows you to extend the service life of your automation.

What steps must be carried out before you install a gate-operator?

Before installing any operator, electrical connections must be prepared and it is mandatory to know the type of gate to automate. For undergound solutions the foundation box must be set into the ground.

What safety devices must I install?

Came products with  EN Tested technology perfectly comply with the minimum requirements for impact force detection, however we always recommend the installation of photocells, preferably on the side of the road if in the vicinity of a public passageways. It is essential that installation be performed in a workmanlike manner. If the gate is designed for intensive use, you can also install sensitive edges that reverse the direction of travel when in contact with any obstacle. Finally, we recommend that a flashing light signals of the operator motion status.

Who is responsible for failure of the automation?

The contract that governs the relationship between the installer and the customer provides for, in favour of the latter, an action for discrepancies and faults of the work which shall expire two years from the date of delivery thereof (Article  1667 Civil Code). With regard to liability for defective products, the manufacturer is responsible for a period of 10 years from the date of installation of the garage door operators.
