Charnwood is a local government district with borough status in the north of Leicestershire, England. It is named after Charnwood Forest, much of which lies within the borough. The council is based in Loughborough, the area's largest town. Within this area, the authority responds to a variety of demands from everyday residents as well as a high demand of homelessness and emergency accommodation.

In order to cope with their ongoing needs, Charnwood Borough Council appointed CAME and achieved a fully bespoke solution from CAME Entrotec and CAME KMS to serve nearly 200 residential homes.

Background

As part of an upgrade assignment, Peter Bullin, Project Surveyor at Charnwood Borough Council, and team set out to achieve a refurbishment with a difference.

Previously frustrated residents did not have flexibility in their access control systems meaning organising social care support or even just extended family member access could become challenging.
As for the residential teams, they often couldn’t track activity within a given complex leaving residents vulnerable or at risk from anti-social behaviour.

This upgrade to the borough gave them full access control delivered through the CAME KMS cloud system, SimpleKey Web, and was complemented with Sharktooth High Frequency fobs.

CAME have partnered with Charnwood Council for over 7 years to positively affect the lives of hundreds of residents.

Tired, outdated and in need of updating, Charnwood embarked on a modernisation project in order to improve security for residents, and support them in receiving services safely whilst at home, and grant access to family members and others when needed.

Solution

CAME KMS and CAME Entrotec worked together with Bamford Doors to install a combination of best-in-class High Security doors with Vandal Resistant CAME Entrotec Door Panels and CAME KMS Sharktooth fobs, uniquely coded for total security.

Peace of mind was signed, sealed and delivered through the CAME KMS SimpleKey Web cloud-based software which ensures ease of controlling fobs and monitoring block statuses, from anywhere anytime by the residential team.

All of these elements designed to seamlessly work together problem free has meant nothing but a satisfied client.

 They now enjoy flexible site control, ability to easily add fobs on timed access meaning services like postal deliveries have required block access, and can monitor resident activity to assist with safeguarding.
